Proud Contribution to the World’s Largest Hydrogen Plant!
Project Update: KRON Contributes to the World’s Largest Hydrogen Plant
KRON is proud to play a supporting role in the NEOM Green Hydrogen Project, a pioneering clean energy initiative under construction in Duba, northwest Saudi Arabia. Touted as the largest green hydrogen plant in the world, this facility marks a major step forward in the global transition toward carbon-free energy solutions.
The project is being developed by a joint venture between NEOM, Air Products, and ACWA Power, and is a core pillar of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 — aiming to position the Kingdom as a global leader in renewable energy and sustainable innovation. Once completed, the plant will use 100% renewable energy (from solar and wind sources) to produce up to 600 tons of green hydrogen per day, which will then be converted into ammonia for global export.
This hydrogen will serve as a zero-emission fuel for transportation and industrial use, offering a scalable solution to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and lower greenhouse gas emissions worldwide. The project is expected to significantly impact future energy markets and set new benchmarks in green technology deployment.
As part of the ongoing construction phase, KRON has supplied INCA® firestop systems, designed to ensure high-level fire protection across critical building systems and utility penetrations. These systems are crucial in an industrial seƫng where safety and compliance with international fire protection standards are non-negotiable.
In addition to supplying certified materials, KRON’s technical team conducted on-site training to support safe, accurate, and code-compliant installation by the approved applicators. This hands-on support ensures that the firestop application aligns with the stringent requirements of the plant’s engineering and safety framework.
KRON is honored to collaborate with Larsen & Toubro (L&T), the project’s engineering, procurement, and construction partner, and contribute to a facility that represents the future of sustainable energy.
This partnership underscores KRON’s commitment to advancing fire safety in critical infrastructure and supporting the Kingdom’s transition toward environmentally responsible mega-projects.
